We hiked so much this summer that Stephen wore through the soles of his shoes. Fortunately we found an REI in Grand Junction, CO and he was able to purchase a replacement.

With the changing weather, we finally conceded that summer is over and it’s time to move indoors. After winterizing the Vistabule, we found a storage space in Grand Junction and then performed the big switcheroo. Shorts and sandals pushed to the bottom of the suitcase and jeans along with fleece jackets moved to the top.

While not originally planned, we made a quick trip to Minnesota to collect our bicycles and tie up loose ends. This included a dentist appointment, arranging for absentee ballots and organizing our storage bin.

We also made time for one Minnesota bike ride along the Mississippi…the colors were spectacular.

Currently we are in Colorado…..and will remain here until mid January.
It has been a wonderful summer and we look forward to more adventures in the Vistabule beginning in Arizona early next spring.

I would love some commentary on the Lava Beds National Monument picture… it does not even look real. Wow!

Kevin ,
Nice to hear from you. I used an artistic photo App called PRISMA. It’s really fun to play around with pictures and see the different overlays on them. There are several artistic photo apps available…I found this free one several years ago at the App Store.

You must have hit Minnesota on a good day–not the day last week that we had 9 inches of snow –Denver probably had as much. But I’m glad you got one more Minnesota bike trip in. It’s warming up to 50 Saturday, first time in two weeks. We’re all tired of winter already. They’re still trying to get the last two solariums on (last two in Stacks 2,4 and 6).
So–the next picture we’ll get will be “the baby” – how soon? Hope all is well with you and your family.

I’m so glad to hear about you two; I was wondering where you’d landed (at least temporarily). Do you have a house-sitting gig in CO? Guess you’re used to cold winters, so you’ll be fine there. It’s 75 in SC today; we played tourist and walked out onto the wharf for the first time in a long time. Enjoy your Colorado phase!

Are you near family, is that why you are in Grand Junction? I can’t believe you will be there all winter. You never stay in one place very long! But enjoy and keep us posted. We love keeping up with your travels since we can’t travel anymore. Love and hugs, P & J
